Description

The commercial construction apprenticeship course is conducted as a partnership between KVCC and a commercial construction company. Students will be embedded in the industry as paid part-time employees of the commercial construction company. Students will experience the culture of commercial construction firsthand as they perform a variety of construction related operations. Each student will conduct an entry interview with the construction supervisor. The commercial construction company will attempt to place students in an area of their interest, as opportunity allows. While placement opportunities may vary from year to year, they will normally include carpentry, construction management, safety officer, drafting, estimating, steel erection, concrete foundations, roofing, and equipment operator. Students will be responsible for conducting themselves as professionals including but not limited to; arriving at the designated job site on time, performing all operations in a safe manne
