Description

This course will provide a foundation in the principles of cardiopulmonary pathophysiology by means of a problem-based case study format. The case studies will integrate evidence-based medicine, protocols, and clinical practice guidelines. Emphasis is placed on the etiology, pathophysiology, clinical manifestations, and treatment of the disorders which are discussed. Simulations of clinical scenarios will be presented so that the student may apply knowledge and skills, and learn to work as a member of a collaborative healthcare team. Prerequisites: BIO214, RTS121, RTS127; Co-requisites: RTS223, RTS225.
