Description

The Liberal Studies (Arts) internship provides students the opportunity to apply academic learning to the workplace context and earn college credit while exploring and gaining valuable work/career related experiences. The Liberal Studies internship also provides the student with goal-related, supervised, evaluated academic experiences in a work environment applicable to a career field.

The student intern, internship supervisor, and course coordinator will develop an individualized internship plan that will include measurable learning objectives. Educational outcomes of effective communication, diversity, ethics, and critical thinking are emphasized as part of this applied learning experience. 120 workplace hours must take place with 15 additional contact/classroom hours. Credit is earned for one?s learning as demonstrated by meeting course objectives through course assessments along with working a set number of hours.
