Description

This course is designed for students whose writing placement assessment indicates the need for further instruction before taking ENG101 or ENG108. The purpose of this course is to develop the writing skills necessary for success in ENG101 or ENG108 and college-level writing generally. Topics will include reading skills, grammar and sentence structure. The basic elements of essay writing including introductions, thesis statements, paragraph development and conclusions will be covered. Attention to individual writing needs will be given. This course will not count toward the fulfillment of an
associate degree?s requirements, but credits can be used for financial aid purposes. An Accuplacer Writing score of 55 -73 indicates a need for ENG 031.
