Description

This course provides a comprehensive overview of teaching and working with young children with disabilities from birth to age 8. Students will learn about different types of disabilities and inclusionary practice through an overview of current and historical practices and related laws. Observation, assessment, environmental analysis, and curriculum will be discussed as each relates to modifications and adaptations in practice. The course will also review typical behavior-related challenges, discipline, and the development of collaborative relationships with families and service providers. prereq: Ece 131 and Ece 136
