Description

This course provides a comprehensive overview of the knowledge required to work with children in preschool and primary grades. Students will learn about patterns of preschool development and how to engage families and communities in preschool programming. Students will also learn how to design comprehensive, stimulating environments and create developmentally appropriate curriculum that aligns with accepted standards. The same overview will be provided for children age five to eight in the early primary grades. Other topics to be covered include: behavior and discipline, guidance, mental health, inclusion, daily schedules and routines. Prereq: Ece 131 and Ece 136
