Description
This course describes the effects of radiation on the human body and the importance of radiation protection. Radiation units of measure and dose response relationships will be reviewed. The student will learn about the radio-sensitivity of the human body, methods of minimizing radiation exposure, and protection from exposure. Acute and chronic effects of radiation will be examined as well as laws governing occupational and public exposure. Prerequisites: PHY213, RAD131, RAD220.
