Description

Shop safety will be discussed and practiced throughout the course. This course is designed to introduce students to computer numerical control (CNC) machining, and advanced manual machine setups, tooling and use. Students will develop an understanding of programming concepts and codes as they relate to CNC lathes and mills. The history of CNC machines will be included in this course. Students will advance their knowledge and skills in the operational procedures for the following manual machines: mills, lathes, drilling, grinding equipment, measuring and layout tools. Terminology as it relates to the machine industry will be used throughout the course. Prerequisites: PMT 101, BPT 126 and PMT111
