Description
This course is designed for future or current early childhood educators to deepen conceptual understanding of the mathematics they teach. Topics of exploration include counting and cardinality, number and operations, place value, patterns and their importance in developing algebraic thinking, shapes and spatial sense, and estimation and measurement. The following ideas will be integrated throughout the course: growth mindset, problem solving, the use of mathematical language, and the eight standards for mathematical practice.
