Health Data Collection (HIT 211)
Term: 2014-2015 AY - Fall Semester
This course covers the basic principles of compiling statistics for health care facilities. Topics include definitions of terms, analysis of hospital services, monthly and annual reports, statistical formulas, and report writing. Students will analyze statistical information utilized in Health Management Information Systems. This course introduces and compares various third-party payer models, their billing requirements, and claims processing. This course will also introduce data organization, interpretation, analysis, and presentation as well as an introduction to data analytics. Prerequisites: CPT115, HIT101, MAT 111.
