Description
This beginning course is designed to give students basic fluency in spoken and written German. Students will learn pronunciation and basic sentence and question patterns necessary to converse effectively and appropriately in everyday situations. Students will also learn to read signs, menus, and timetables, as well as simple prose. In addition, discussions about the country, its people, and customs will give students an understanding and appreciation of the culture. This course is taught using the immersion technique; that is, the class is taught in the foreign language itself.
