Description
In this course, students will examine contemporary poetry and participate in writing exercises that develop writing skills and creativity. Students will participate in creative writing workshops and produce a final portfolio of revised, polished work. This course is appropriate for the student who already has a writing practice, and the beginning writer who would like to learn about poetry writing and be creative in a supportive environment.
This course is designated as Writing Intensive. Writing Intensive courses meet at least three of the four following criteria: 40% of overall course grade is based on formalized writing assignments, writing instruction is part of the course, drafts of writing assignments are required, and feedback is given on formal elements of writing. Preq Eng 101 or Eng 108 passed with a C or better
