Description

This course provides an introductory survey course of astronomy. Topics include: celestial motion, the history of astronomy, backyard observations, telescopes, the solar system and the planets, the sun, stars and their evolution, galaxies, cosmology and the origin of the universe. Laboratory activities and observing sessions supplement classroom lectures.
