Description
Students will be introduced to the essential elements of creative writing, focusing on literary fiction and poetry. This course will define and illustrate through analytical readings and discussion, the elements, forms and techniques of fiction and poetry writing. Students will practice these elements in their own writing, producing approximately 10-12 pages of revised fiction (short story form) and a portfolio of revised poems. Students will also be expected to read and critique each other’s work. Prerequisite: A grade of “C†or higher in ENG101 or ENG 102.
